Duct Testing from Seattle to Bellingham & surrounding areas

We will perform a duct test as required by local or State building codes. Our technician will test and score the heat duct system giving any recommendations of areas of duct leakage. A WESC Residential Energy Compliance Certificate will be placed on the electrical panel.

The integrity of the ventilation system that serves the heater and air conditioner in a home is vital for it to perform as expected. If the ductwork of the ventilation system develops air leaks, cracking, or loss of insulation, it will lead to numerous problems that will negatively affect both the energy efficiency of the HVAC system and the indoor air quality.

However, it is difficult, and sometimes impossible, for non–professionals to tell that leaks are occurring in ductwork, or how serious the problem is. This job requires duct testing from experts with specialized tools. If you suspect that your ventilation system is declining, or you want to be sure that it is in the best state possible, call Whatcom Enterprises and Services, LLC today and arrange for duct testing. Using our services, you will know exactly what you need to do for your home to make it energy–efficient and keep the rooms free from airborne contamination.

When Should I Schedule Duct Testing?
If you have lived in the same home for a number of years but have never arrange to have the ducts’ integrity tested, you should call for duct testing as a precaution. The ducts may be gaining or losing excess heat because of deteriorating insulation, and small leaks that can easily escape notice may be contributing to rising bills. Every few years it is a good idea to have testing redone so that you can keep the ducts in the best condition.

Otherwise, you should schedule professional duct testing as soon as you notice any warning signs that the ventilation system has air leaks or damage. Watch for the following:

  • High energy bills: During any period when you run the AC for long stretches (or the heater), keep a close watch on your bills. If they start to skyrocket, but you do not notice anything wrong with the AC itself, you should call for duct testing to see if air leaks are the problem.
  • Drop in airflow: Check the vents into the rooms. If the flow of air coming from them seems weaker than before, ductwork issues may be at fault.
  • Musty, moldy smells from the vents: Contamination from outside sources that enters the ductwork will start to create odd odors that will waft from the vents. Have duct testing to see if air leaks or gaps are at fault.
